Conclusion

A good entrepreneurial education will not only benefit those who want to go into business for themselves. Young children who are encouraged to be free thinkers can achieve much more than their more restricted peers. Adults exposed to successful people may also discover their potential for a more fulfilling career and life. A successful entrepreneurial education is not about school; it is about life.

Inspirational Entrepreneurs

Ryan Hickman

Ryan Hickman was only 3 years old when he started researching recycling, its benefits and the impact that he himself can make when getting himself involved in solving the ever-growing problem of waste. It didn’t take Ryan much time along with the help of friends and family Ryan set up his own business, Ryan’s Recycling. Since then, Ryan, aged 9, has received global recognition for his hard work and has scaled up his business, having an immeasurably positive impact.

He built his own innovation from home, using a computer and an Internet connection, and called it Botangle (a combination of “robotics” and “angle”). “I created this side project to kind of save myself,” he said before a crowd at a WIRED event for young innovators last year. “Its mission is to replace the public education system because of my really terrible experiences in it.”

Bella Tipping

We talked about a computer on every desk and in every home. It’s been amazing to see so much of that dream become a reality and touch so many lives. I never imagined what an incredible and important company would spring from those original ideas.” It was Gates' vision, as well as his business brain, that helped to turn Microsoft from a small 30-man operation based in Albuquerque into the multinational behemoth it is today.

Mark Zuckerberg

“If you just work on stuff that you like and you’re passionate about, you don’t have to have a master plan with how things will play out.”

Myths about Entrepreneurship

Born to lead

Anyone can be an entrepreneur, given the right mindset and dedication

The idea is everything

Even the best ideas can end up failing if they aren’t properly supported

Unlimited freedom

Oftentimes, that means making tremendous personal sacrifices, working long hours and getting stuck at the office far longer than you’d like.

It's an easy way to get rich

Even with all the right things in place, you'll have no guarantee you’ll have the timing or the pacing right.

Success will come fast or ???

Because of the looming failure rate of startups, too many entrepreneurs believe it’s an all-or-nothing bid, but success and failure come in much more diverse shades than that.

It's all on your shoulders

However, no entrepreneur ever found success completely on his/her own

You know the secret to success

Businesses succeed or fail based on a number of different, interacting variables. If there was a straightforward secret to success, we’d all be mega-rich entrepreneurs.

Huge risks

Calculated risk is recommended

Never stressed out

Every decision that an entrepreneur makes not only impacts his or her family but also the families of their employees. That type of pressure can lead to very stressful situations.

Huge funding

If entrepreneurs sat around waiting for funding to arrive, the majority of ideas would never get off the ground

Benefits of Starting a Business at a Young Age

Teaches Basic Life Skills

Entrepreneurship education teaches essential life skills such as an innovative approach to solve a problem, resolve real world problems, collaboration and working with a team, and many more. All these life skills which define the personality of an individual can never be learned through traditional book and classroom studies.

Enhances Creativity

Creative people always take a different approach to a problem and that’s what makes a major difference. By encouraging creativity, innovation, and collaboration the entrepreneurship molds the students into an abler individual strong enough to face the reality of the outside world. Apart from the degrees and certifications, the students will have the much-needed experience to start their journey in the market with a strong foundation.

Develops Problem Solving and Identification Capability

Problem-solving and problem identification are two separate things. Students through years of practice may develop their problem-solving skills but to identify the problem much before its arrival and taking necessary precautions to tackle it differentiates a successful entrepreneur from the rest of the mass.

Boosts Leadership Quality

The world is always in need of a good leader for guidance. The students who are interested to make a difference will certainly succeed in paving a different pathway. While learning about entrepreneurship skills at a younger age, the students tend to incorporate new skills and start thinking like a leader. Beneficial specifically for women entrepreneurs, the leadership skil…

Prepares the Students for an Uncertain Future

If we research a little bit, we can very well realize that the jobs once existed decades ago, are nowhere to be found in the present scenario. In the volatile and dynamic market, new technologies are advancing in each passing day and the current generation is progressing towards a future without any certainty. They might take years to master a particular trade or skill but with time it might disappear from the market resulting in havoc in student’s careers. By learning about entrepreneurship, one door will always be open for venturing into, if the things do not turn out as expected.

How to Implement Entrepreneur Education

 1. Teach more case studies

The case study provides a detailed study of a person, group, situation, etc. A case study helps in bringing the understanding of a complex issue or object and also covered risk mitigation. It can extend experience or add strength to the existing knowledge through previous research.

It provides the student with the opportunity to dig deeper into the way other executives followed to make their decisions and learn from them. Not only can they learn from it, but also they can put out their own ideas and try to do them in a better way. It's more like putting them face-to-face with real-life business solutions and learning through them.

 2. Relate theoretical content to real business challenges

Linking curriculum to real-world business challenges help students gain experiences, make them learn, and help to become wiser and stronger. It will shape them to be successful business people.

For example, when teaching social media marketing, a lecturer can tell how social media have become a promotional platform for many businesses worldwide. Many individuals do business through Instagram and Facebook. Similarly, a finance professor can use the 2008 mortgage crisis to instill in students notions as diverse as quantitative easing, inflation, and monetary policy.

3. Host entrepreneurship contests

Students learn most when they are out in the competitive world. It's more like learning from our own experience. Setting students against each other natures the feeling of putting all their efforts in the best possible way to win the contest. These contests also give them a sense of freedom to use their innovative thinking and do whatever they want to do. Competitive shows like The Apprentice and Shark Tank encourage hands-on learning opportunities.

 4. Invite professionals to teach

Nobody can teach or describe the whole process other than the people who have gone through that cycle. Learning from the professional influence the entrepreneurial lessons of individuals to learn in different stages of the entrepreneurial process, fulfilling varied roles, such as facilitator in detecting opportunities and generating business ideas in the innovation stage, legitimizing during the implementation phase, as getting to know successful entrepreneurs makes the act of becoming one yourself.

Institutions can invite entrepreneurs to participate in a question-and-answer session with students, present their success stories, and share their experiences. Invited entrepreneurs can provide real-life examples of how small businesses are created and run, giving students a clearer sense of the real world of entrepreneurship and a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities they may face as entrepreneurs.

Such an initiative will make the content more engaging, and students can quickly learn and grasp real-world insights.

5. Help students launch their own business.

Many universities provide students with campus recruitment programs, but nothing can be better than starting their own business in an economy plagued by a high level of unemployment.

Universities can work in partners with small business administration and student entrepreneurs to obtain financing, research the market, and build practical businesses.

Entrepreneurship can be for social or for-profit motive, and to encourage it in students; universities must offer more practical coursework, blending the theory in the traditional economic literature with the real needs of day-to-day business management. The education should be experiential, hands-on, and action-driven to give students a real-world experience.

How to be a True Entrepreneur

A careful decision must be made to move on to a position involving leadership. This means that, entrepreneurs should begin to inherit attributes of great leaders from now onwards. This can boost entrepreneurs to be capable of thriving in their varied roles in the organization.

Set a Role Model

Choose leaders whom entrepreneurs idolize most. They may be leaders of modern world or may be legendary leaders from history or maybe both. Start working by combining styles that entrepreneurs think are most suitable for them. They might include personally known mentors as well.

Maintain Discipline and Decorum

To become an entrepreneur, you need to change some habits that you inherited when you were a follower. A good control over the working process and a consistent rate of implementing ideas are necessary qualities of an entrepreneur. As entrepreneurs, who we have seen before, basic building blocks of a great leader is based on being sincere; have some patience and wait to strike the right note.

Be Determined

Embrace responsibilities of entrepreneurs to understand the role of one. Be persistent in the role of an entrepreneur as it is one of the toughest things to do.

Learn to Study

Be a student of the qualities in a good leader. Conduct various researches with respect to subject, listen to records, lectures and debates about entrepreneurship and take classes based on it. There are many learning options available in the market. Study the greatest ideas out of each of them and start to implement them in everyday activities and thinking.

Practice

Know the basics of entrepreneurship and then try to master them, while integrating some newer attributes or consciousness level all time. With course of time, not only will entrepreneurs become the masters at the art of harnessing their skills, but also will become capable enough to mentor others towards becoming better leaders as well.

This brings us to the statement that entrepreneurs are made, not born. The path of an entrepreneur will not necessarily always seem to be easy nor it may look fun, but they need to keep in mind that their goals are always within reach. Some people like to say that journey itself contains all the rewards. With this positive attitude, entrepreneurs are already nurturing their winning habits.

Risk Takers

If an entrepreneur intends to grow, it is important to sportively accept failures as different possibilities. A great entrepreneur has to do this and tell others they need not worry about failures. In fact, the best of entrepreneurs follow their idea at the cost of repeated failures, as every misstep gets them closer to success.

Entrepreneurs must be willing to take certain risks, so that they learn from their mistakes and become capable enough to answer questions correctly to make investors feel comfortable with their idea. That is why if someone approaches an entrepreneur with an idea, they don’t immediately reject it as ineffective.

They permit him/her to think around the idea and determine if it really makes sense. If something goes wrong, they do not discourage that person, instead they are grateful for learning something new. Entrepreneurs gain experience and learn from such meetings, which encourages them to take more risks by analyzing every aspect of that risk.

Ethical Behavior

Entrepreneurs set the bar very high when it comes to maintaining their integrity and accountability towards the organization, irrespective of any circumstances that may, at times, look detrimental to the company’s cause. Still, in the longer run, the organization will come out much stronger and better because of this.

Entrepreneurs will be held liable for some of their toughest decisions. They need to keep in mind that it is never possible to satisfy everyone to their heart’s content all the time. But the least entrepreneurs can do is to be fair to all their team members. When the nature of business is a bit too competitive, entrepreneurs will have to take tough decisions, which may initially be unsavory, but will benefit the company later

Positive Attitude

The significance of a positive attitude is great in the professional lives of entrepreneurs. Great entrepreneurs tend to harness a strong, positive attitude that leaves a mark on others and tends to spread throughout the team. They inject their team members’ minds with confidence, which makes them capable enough to bounce back in in case of any adverse circumstances.

Even if entrepreneurs have a greater number of odds against them, greater also are the chances for a true entrepreneur to rise from a tough situation. As a matter of fact, a large number of entrepreneurs have earned fame for themselves by standing strongly against the toughest of times.

People at times perceive them as being unshakable and calm during crisis situations. This does not mean that they are just acting likewise and are being untrue to themselves. A great leader, most of the times, needs help when something does not go right. However, the most important quality is not to panic and lose focus

Why Do People Become Entrepreneurs

Every entrepreneur has their own ‘why’ that drove them to dive into being their own boss. Whether entrepreneurs need more freedom or to make the world a better place, they all take control of their life by living life on their own terms.

To change the world

Many entrepreneurs strive to make the world better. Whether entrepreneurs believe in space exploration, eliminating poverty or creating a practical but game-changing product, they ultimately build a brand in service of others. Some entrepreneurs use their business as a way to raise capital quickly to funnel into their noble causes. To social entrepreneurs, building an empire is about creating a better world for everyone.

They don’t want a boss

Entrepreneurs often struggle with having a boss. They often feel suffocated, restricted and held back. Some entrepreneurs may feel that they have a more effective way of doing things. Others may dislike the lack of creative freedom. Ultimately, they become attracted to entrepreneurship to succeed on their own terms. Being the boss can be more fulfilling than having one.

They want flexible hours

Entrepreneurship is often popular around those who need flexible hours. Many people with disabilities often enjoy entrepreneurship as it allows them to work when they’re able to. Parents with young children might also prefer entrepreneurship as it allows them to raise young children at home or pick them up from school without having to feel guilty about it. Students may also like the flexibility of entrepreneurship as their course workload might not allow them to work standard office hours.

They want to work from anywhere

Along with flexibility in working hours, entrepreneurship is popular among those who don’t want to be tied down to a specific location. Entrepreneurs might not want to work from the same place every single day, as it might get boring for them. So, if you’re looking for the freedom to work from anywhere in the world, maybe the entrepreneur lifestyle is the right one for you.

They can’t get a job

Many stumble into entrepreneurship when they can’t get a job. Getting fired, a lack of experience or a criminal record can prevent the average person from getting a job when they’re desperate. Instead of being defeated by their situation, they create new opportunities for themselves. A new graduate might start an online store the summer after graduation to build up their resume. A parent who is seasonally laid off each winter might start a business to ensure they can continue feeding their family while keeping a roof over their heads.

They don’t fit into the corporate environment

Entrepreneurs don’t often thrive in corporate environments. It’s often very restricting for their growth. They may dislike the lack of control they have in their role or the office politics. In general, you can spot an entrepreneur in a corporate environment as they’re usually trying to gain more control in their role and learning their coworkers responsibilities to better understand how everything fits together.

They’re curious

Entrepreneurs love finding out the answer to the question, ‘what will happen if…’ They’re experimental. Entrepreneurs love learning. They regularly read business books to advance their knowledge. So naturally, entrepreneurship appeals to them because doing allows them to learn the most in the shortest amount of time. Their curiosity allows their continued growth.

They’re ambitious

Those who love reaching difficult goals and milestones are made to be entrepreneurs. There’s no limit to how much an entrepreneur can make and so they can always work to achieve higher levels of greatness. Since there’s no limit to what they can achieve, entrepreneurs constantly find themselves growing and achieving more than they ever imagined. When obstacles get presented in front of them, they find the workaround to their goal. Entrepreneurs are unstoppable.

Introduction

An activity done regularly in one‘s leisure time for pleasure, for example, singing, playing football, etc can be converted into a profit yielding venture. If the entrepreneur loves the kind of activities that the business will entail, the easier it is for the business to succeed. At all times, the entrepreneur must ensure that there is no conflict between the chosen business venture and his/her preferred life-style.

The purpose of this education is to make the juveniles as well as adult ones aware of the innovation. Entrepreneurship education has mandate to embed adolescents with knowledge and skills to rejuvenate their vision, ideas and intellect.

A process of providing individuals with the ability to recognize commercial opportunities and insight; self-esteem and knowledge to act on them. Referring to the topic, this education is not limited to young people. In this cutting edge age, this education needs to be imparted to people of all ages and both genders.

We can say that the term entrepreneur is linked to the person who has the strength to turn the thoughts triggered in his mind into actions, plan projects and to make them practical, who is not pusillanimous to take risks and who has undaunted self-motivation to try something innovative irrespective of the profit or loss. Entrepreneurial education is not limited to providing education to the students about how to be a businessman. It is about creating a learning environment to promote tactics and intellect to make them able to nurture the valuable creative thoughts.

Entrepreneurs by creating something new, provoke and excite the other to work with the same creative mind. So they also contribute to promote creativity and productivity such education instills confidence in students, inculcate mannerism and teach them how to take irrevocable decisions.

"It is all about recognizing hidden passion and to work on it."

While entrepreneurship refers to a person’s ability to translate an idea into action, students need to be introduced to this arena through creative teaching approaches. Entrepreneurship Education empowers students to think creatively, to seek problems – to solve opportunities, to empathise with others, to take risks, to accept failure as part of the growth process, and to appreciate the correlation between hard work and success.
